FIRST SCOTTISH GROUP UPDATE FEBRUARY 2021 FROM IAN FRASER, MANAGING DIRECTOR

Since our last update searching staff continue to work from home, however scanning staff from FSDM

are currently back on furlough as per Government guidelines. Storage and limited warehouse duties

continue to operate from Dalgety Bay .

When the announcement was made back in March 2020 to go into lockdown FSG had two main

objectives , protect our staff and continue to provide our high standard of searching services.

I am pleased to report that both these objectives have been achieved .

Due to lockdown the housing market last year was up and down, residential sales for

2020 ended 17% down as against 2019 . 2020 ended with sales of 85,580 as against 103,152 for

2019  All things considered a great result and a testimony to how robust the Scottish housing

market is.

This update gives me a further opportunity to thank all our clients for their support and to our

staff for all their endeavours during these strange times. Numerous messages of thanks have been

received and all at FSG appreciated these kind words.

I remember as a trainee searcher the late Tom Brown telling me that searches being accurate

and sent on time from experienced people was what the legal profession required from a

searching company and these words still remain true today.

Please continue to take care and with the vaccine programme progressing well hopefully we

can look forward to a brighter year.

Best Wishes

Ian.
