Please note that from Tuesday 17 November 2026, the following changes implemented by National Records of Scotland (NRS) and Registers of Scotland (ROS) will be put in place
we will continue to provide our Copy Deed Service; however, the following changes will apply when ordering copy deeds on your behalf:
- Sasine deed requests recorded after 1869 will only be available through ROS. NRS will no longer process these requests.
- NRS will continue to process:
- Sasine deed requests recorded before 1869
- Requests for Burgh Registers
- Requests for Particular and General Registers
- Requests for Duplicate Plans
- NRS will now also charge a searching fee where applicable, which may be incurred even if no deed is traced from the information provided
- Books of Council & Session and Register of Inhibitions deeds will continue to be ordered from and processed by either ROS or NRS, as appropriate, depending on the recording date of the deed.
Fees will also increase as of 17th November 2026 in line with the above, we will advise in full over the next week
